How AI works inside I Do Companion, and what you can rely on.

1. What Vera is

Vera is an AI-assisted wedding planning companion built into I Do Companion. Vera drafts checklists, timelines, budget suggestions, guest-list ideas, vendor-comparison notes, and conversational answers to your planning questions.

Vera is designed to help — not to replace a professional wedding planner or a legal, medical, financial, or contractual advisor. You remain in charge of every decision.

2. How Vera generates answers

To power Vera's responses, we send the relevant context for each conversation to an AI provider (currently Anthropic). That context includes the current conversation and the specific wedding data needed to answer your question — for example, your timeline, vendor list, or saved preferences. We do not send everything in your account on every request.

Vera's outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, out-of-date, or unsuitable for your specific situation. Please review what Vera writes before you rely on it, send it, publish it, or act on it.

3. What you control

  • You choose when to open a conversation with Vera.
  • You choose what to share with her.
  • You can stop using AI-assisted features at any time.
  • You can delete conversation history and account data through your Account page or by contacting support.

4. What we do with the conversation

We store your conversation with Vera in your account so you can review it later. We use it to operate the service, improve safety, and debug issues. We do not sell your conversation content. Our AI providers process content under their own terms; we choose providers that meet our privacy expectations.

5. Reporting an issue

If Vera says something inappropriate, makes up information, or otherwise behaves badly, please tell us at hello@idocompanion.com. A real person reads every report and we use them to improve the product.
